I AM A NURSE
I walk through those doors with pride,
Who's life will i save today?
Someone is waiting for me,
Someone is alive today because of my duty.
Sometimes we cry cause we can't save them all,
God sometimes won't let us interfere when HE calls.
A baby's first breath when he looks at me,
The joy of my first delivery.
The tear i wipe a way with my own hands,
The life ending of a gentle old man.
The night seems so dark and the morning so bright.
Being a nurse you see life in a different light.
Who will i save tonight?
Who will hold my hand during their last breath with no fright?
Who will enter this world on my shift?
How many mothers will greet their babies with a kiss?
I don't know who these special people are
but i will meet them with every call
I will hold them tight and help the pain
I will hold them up when they feel faint.
I will be strong when i am needed
That is my job, I am a nurse..that is my duty.

Objectives:
General:To advance our knowledge in performing functional nursing
Specific:To effectively apply nursing process as part of our nursing care to patients in QPH
Observation/s:
Groupmates: The group participated well in the conduct of their assigned task.
Self: I enjoyed working with the group because they have shown their cooperation as well as their dedication to their duties.

Learnings:
I consider last week's duty as another exciting and challenging work for me. Functional nursing is a learning technique for student nurses like me and this opens new ways to enhance and develop our skills in the clinical area. As part of learning, our strenghts and weaknesses will always appear as we go on with our duties.However we hope to acquire more learnings and learn from whatever mistakes we commit along the process.

Objectives:
GENERAL: To gain more knowledge about taking care of the patient inside the ward and be familiarize with thw different nursing responsibilities for the improvement of every students' skills.
SPECIFIC: To expose ourselves specifically on the medical and surgical ward, to know the different problems of patients and their interventions and other responsibilities as a student nurse.
Observations:
SELF: The second week of our duty was really an interesting experience for me. I really had a good time to be a head nurse on the very first day ( though we were all toxic on that day).
GROUP MATES: This group is really funny and kind. We are all helping each other specially during the duty.
C.I.: This week, we were all toxic but Ma'am Nhelia stayed cool and funny. She doesn't want us to feel the that way. Even if she's tired, she makes us all happy.
LEARNING:
This week, we are all work as functional. Everyone has its own assignment-the medicine nurse,the head nurse and the procedure nurse. I was assigned to be the head nurse on the first day. I learned to look out or monitor the different patients assigned to us. Though it was really really hard because they were all toxic, I had a great time dealing with them. On the second day, I was then assigned to be the procedure nurse and we bathe our patients, we did the morning care and some procedures that the patients need. It is an overwhelming feeling to do this job.

General: To be able to expose in the hospital setting and learn the different procedures in the field of medicine
Specific:To be able to inquire more knowledge about the given topic
Observations:
Groupmates: My groupmates are very indulgence and they are willing to learn more. They are also very cooperative.
C.I: Maam Nhelia is very joker and make us lough all the time even if we are tired of doing our assigned task, she always make us happy no matter what problems arises.
Self: I feel nervous because it is our first time to do functional job.
Learnings: I learned how to handle 3 patients and it is so very exciting.

General:To gain more experience to be able to provide quality health care to my patients.
Specific:To be come more effective in funtionalnursing student nurse in providing health care to our patient
Observations:
Self:i have observed that i improved alot and i learned new things.
group: my group mates are all hardworking and they help me every time i as them for help.
C.I: maam is very kind and supportively helps us always in every procedures.
learnings:
I have learned many things in our functional!especially the policy and the process of giving health care to my patients in the male ward and i am happy i learned new techniques and skills. Thanz MaM
