Someone is alive today because of my duty.
Sometimes we cry cause we can't save them all,
God sometimes won't let us interfere when HE calls.
A baby's first breath when he looks at me,
The joy of my first delivery.
The tear i wipe a way with my own hands,
The life ending of a gentle old man.
The night seems so dark and the morning so bright.
Being a nurse you see life in a different light.
Who will i save tonight?
Who will hold my hand during their last breath with no fright?
Who will enter this world on my shift?
How many mothers will greet their babies with a kiss?
I don't know who these special people are
but i will meet them with every call
I will hold them tight and help the pain
I will hold them up when they feel faint.
I will be strong when i am needed
That is my job, I am a nurse..that is my duty.

OBJECTIVES
General Objectives: To share my knowledge in rendering care at the same time gain more knowledge through actual handling of pediatric patients
Specific Objectives: -To identify special considerations in pediatric patients

OBSERVATIONS:
SELF: I’m excited in our pedia ward rotation, the whole week of duty I was not toxic, I’m thankful because it only means that those patients are getting well. Alleluiah..
GROUPMATES: Always funny, some are toxic yet still manage to smile and laugh out loud,
C.I: she’s so cool.. we learn while having fun, she is strict and emphasized guidelines from the first day of duty.
LEARNING
We are taught how to carry out doctors order , and my drug computations in manual calculations has improved, I became more aware of proper grooming and the proper addressing to my groupmates.

OBSERVATIONS:
SELF: I always made sure to accomplish all my requirements in our daily routine because the whole week I’m not that toxic to my patients In our 3rd day of duty I witness a 2 patient having seizure and the other one having DOB, I was nervous though I reported it to the nurse on duty, I felt so sad because I want to alleviate their sufferings but I just don’t know what to do, I felt sad also seeing their mothers crying.
GROUPMATES: They are alert always, there is always an open communication, sharing of knowledge and sharing of fun,
C.I.: She is organized in everything that’s why we are not that toxic.
LEARNINGS:
-carrying out doctor’s order had improved
-endorsing properly
-time management, ex. Having my own kardex for me to update my activities for the day, during free time I’m making my SOPIE

I am scared at the same time excited in the pediatric ward, it means another adventure, more and more criticism and learning's to gain.

they don't show that they are tired and they are always smiling, they are also very much fond of childrens.

she is just calm and doesn't make us feel stupid, she gives us constructive criticism and helps us at all time.
learning:
my mind was refreshed in carrying out doctors order and also in computing medication for pediatrics for it is much delicate than in adults and also keeping an eye on assessing our patient for they cannot verbalize what they feel..

second week is much scary for its like the second level more and more things are to be done unlike the first week, now i know how to manage patient having seizure, though kinda toxic
groupmates:
they help each one of us like when we had patient having seizure someone gets the water and gives us basin and things needed while we do TSB on the patient. they are calm and not afraid to ask and always forget that we need to call each other ma'am and sir in the ward
ci:
she is funny and fight for our rights.
Learnings:
I learn how to manage patient having seizure and what are the illnesses most common on pediatrics like AGE and UTI for the fact that they are still kids and they dont know yet what they do. they still depend on their parents always

>I was kinda shocked with the environment from OR to Pedia from noiseless to noisy, but if there’s one thing that remained that’s the pressure and mind you pedia is much toxic than OR???hehe

>They are cool they now how and when to make jokes, they are fun to be with.

>Ma’am nhelia is strict but has reasons why she does it, she is so specific to things that must be done.

>Ist week was so overwhelming 1st day was fine the second day was not so fine aside from I got scolded but I experienced my first skin testing, I got demerits from ma’am because of crumpled cap, dirty shoes and incomplete paraphernalia’s.well it was a week to remember.

>When times get rough call my group mates and the will be helping you that’s how they help.
C.I.
>She is a keen observer and has a good sense of hearing, she does notice small things, like superimposition's, but its true as she always say “Chart is a legal document so no space for any erasure” when she’s around toxic is not super needed she can manage us well.
Learning’s
>We had our ward class its hard to catch the peoples attention specially when they think is not quite interesting so it’s a challenge for us, everything turned out fine not until 2 of our patient had seizure one had convulsion that lead to seizure during my time to talk she started to had seizure so instead of the attention is on me, it caught the listeners attention sa we immediately fined the discussion and helped the pt.

C.I – she is strict especially in charting and drug administration, because she knows that handling pediatric children is not that easy thing to do.
LEARNINGS
For the past 2 weeks of our rotation I learned a lot of things that guide me in my future career most especially in rendering care in pedia.
I learned on how to carry out doctors order, doing the proper charting most especially to those at Medicare.

Specific-to improve and practice my S-K-A (skills,knowledge,attitudes)
Observation:
self-as for like who was just my first time to encounter kids and children,,I was so nervous especially kids are scared of peoples who wears white..
groupmate-as like me,, i guess they are nervous too.. eventhough others tried to handle pedia patients
CI-a cool CI who is very supportive for her students,her orientation was great.. it took it 1 whole day of explaining the "do's and dont's" of PW
Learning:
with in that week,, i tried perform a CPR, and orientation was made within that week

CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR: she is a strict C.I regarding the charts and manner of each member of our group but she is a good mentor to us and also she is a jolly and happy person C.I

I am nervous because this week is our start of handling the whole chart of our clients. this week also is our ward class but during the said day we witness 2 client have problem 1 is the client that have seizure and the other one is DOB because of empty oxygen
GROUPMATE'S:
> some of them are busy this week but they managed it well. we share each others knowledge regarding the nursing care that we encountered

OBSERVATIONS
SELF: During our first week duty at Quirino Provincial Hospital I've observed to my self that I was too serious and interested because it was my first time to handle a pediatric patient and I have fear to commit a mistake.
GROUPMATES:
My group mates was so funny and happy even though some of my group mates was toxic during our first shift.
CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR:
Our CI was very good and she was able to give us all we need to know about pediatric patients.
LEARNING
I've learned a lot of things during our first week like carrying out doctors order and proper way of giving care to a pediatric patient. I also have learned that in our profession proper grooming is important because our school uniform is "white" and we should take good care of our self.

SELF:
I've observed to my self that I was too nervous upon giving medication because it was my first time to give meds on a pediatric patient.
GROUPMATES:
My group mates are still funny during our second week but when it comes to the floor all of them are serious and alert.
CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR:
Our CI was very nice but very strict in all things about pedia.
LEARNING
I've learned the importance of giving care to a pediatric patient and as a health care provider we should always be alert because in our profession there's a lot of emergency situation.

OBJECTIVES
General Objectives: To be more familiar regarding the rules and regulations of Quirino Provincial Hospital, also with those staff of different stations.
Specific Objectives: To learn and gain more knowledge regarding pediatric patient.
Observations:
SELF:Our first day seems really exciting because this is my first time to be assigned at pediatric ward as well as my groupmates.I had fun learning new interesting things about pedia ward.
GROUPMATES: They were nice. kind and approachable. Some got toxic with their patients but there is still smiles on their faces.
CI: Shes kind and jolly. Its fun to learn things with her though she seldom got mad with us, but still she always wear those sparking smiles.
Learnings: For this week I learned new things regarding pediatric ward,techniques and proper way of handling such patients like carrying out Doctors order,computing the right doses of meds to be given and to established rapport effectively.

OBSERVATIONS:
SELF:I'm excited at the same time I'm nervous because it was not easy to rendering to the baby.
GROUPMATES:They are funny,some are are serious because they are toxic in giving medication and do sample charting.
C.I:When we are in our area she was strict especially in giving medication.
LEARNINGS:handling a baby was not that easy because baby was more sensitive than an adults. We must more focus or give care about their health conditions because they can only express their feelings by crying if their hurts.

SELF:I'm toxic that day so i almost busy and a little bit nervous but as what they said when you are toxic much more to learn.
GROUPMATES: They are a type of funny person and helpful also.
C.I:She was our guider,she has not a boring person.
LEARNINGS:We must prioritize them if they have problems.giving medications,taking vital signs,give good care and hygiene are very important as guideline data to out of them in any infection that may cause more about their health conditions.

To gain impart my knowledge in hospital especially in pedia ward, also to know the different setting compare in other ward
Specific Objective:
>To observe and to know how carry the patient in pedia ward
>To improve my knowledge how do charting and handle the whole thing connected to the patient.
>Being care to the patient and focus smartly.
Observation:
Self: I compare in having patient adult and handle to pedia it has something to do about an adjustment, for being not sure computation in meds. just like having to know those basic calculations.
Group: They have their own way how to get their demerits, especially how to address our own name at the ward.
C.I.: She teach us how to do know about having the patient in pedia, she guide us also those technique in preparing most concern in meds.
Learning:
I’ve learn to be prepared always for those question, be prepared in having shocking events in patient or being toxic. Aware in proper warring uniform and also to got demerits at the area.

Observation:
Self: In carry out of doctors order must aware and how to prescribe them, nervous for the time of submitting those requirements for that day.
Group: They also share their knowledge for solution regarding the problem in our group.
C.I. She let us to do our best first before then she teach us right one. But I’ve learn a lot why because she doesn’t let us to be board.
Learning:
How to keep our patience longer, In handing the crying baby and how to get the trust of the mother or S.O. To report in proper way or endorsing completely.
My first week LFD
OBJECTIVES:
General Objective: To be able to learn more/gain more knowledge about handling pedia
Specific Objective:To be able to assess our patient carefully and render our care to them

OBSERVATION :
Self: During our first exposure at the pedia ward, I felt too nervous and at the same time excited and since this is also our first time to be handled by Maa’m.
Groupmates :they are too kind ,they share what they knows ,they are cooperative and jolly person
C.I : She’s strict especially in charting..Assessing our patient is too important to her, so you must know everything about your patient because he will be going to ask you and you must able to answer it.
LEARNINGS :
I learned how important patience is..especially in pedia ward where you will be encountered some sensitive ,” makukulit” babies

OBJECTIVES:
General Objective:To be able to learn more/gain more knowledge about handling the pedia
Specific Objective:To be able to assess our patient carefully and render our care to them
To be able to enhanced my skill
OBSERVATION :
Self: I improved more with my skills and computing such drug in manual process
Groupmates : Some are toxic and busy in assessing their patient ,they are fun to be with and kind.,
C.I : She’s so cool,she’s always there to guide us in everything we do,she’s sharing a lot of knowledge to us.
LEARNINGS :
I learned and experienced a lot of things such as administering medication, charting ,prescribing medication and making medication card, I learned also how to carry out Dr’s order,and in pedia ward you must always alert.
