RHU-day 1

General objective:
To be able to familiarize and to know the different areas and also the staffs in RHU/CHO.

Specific objectives:
-To render care for community people
-To apply my learning and knowledge about my profession
-To gain more experience in enhancing my ability
-To motivate myself as a health care provider

Learnings:
It wasn’t my first time to expose in RHU/CHO. I’ve been here before but this time, I’m with 1styear unlike before I accompanied with 2ndyear. There’s no different between them because when it comes to ability they are the same but when it comes to level of assessing the patient the 2ndyear is much more advanced.
I already have some of expectations about what we are going to do in this place and it’s happened. As I go back here, I have learned more things about my profession like first, how to mingle/deal with the different people in RHU/CHO. In the first I’d tried to approached some of them, I admit it is annoying because there are instance that they don’t care about us (nursing student) but this kind of people got my inspiration or motivation to prove myself as a health care provider and inspite that I have also some patient whom I gained trust easily because of my ability in rendering care. I was also learned more about right basic nursing procedure such as assessing client, getting vital signs, and many more. I encountered many abnormalities/problems about my patient so, I was able to practice my ability in giving health teachings which appropriate to them. If you experienced actual duty, you may have a lot of learnings to gain like me/us student nurse. I will no longer enumerate some of my learnings instead of showing it. 

Observations:
Self-as I go back in this place said, I’ve learned more and more things related to my profession and it will enlightened my abilities/skills as a health care provider. And I was able to apply all my knowledge and learnings in giving care as well as with my patient. Having an actual duty is the best teacher for us to learn more.

Group mates- like what I said, I’m new in this crowd but I didn’t think that I’m not belong because we’re have the same goal which is to help/serve the needy one. I observed my group mates with determination in their job. They don’t allow themselves to stop learning. Although sometimes they make a mistakes but they don’t give up easily instead take it as a challenge for us nursing student. I hope as time goes by, we’ll know each other better.

Clinical instructor- enjoys being with, supportive and imparted a lot of knowledge to us. Those three things will describe ma’am Nelia. She motivated us to pursue our dreams. Thanks to her 

GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
To practice thoroughly taking of vital signs with health teachings by sharing our knowledge regarding their vital signs especially when our patients were asking me questions like, "why is my BP high?", "what should i do to make my BP in a normal range?". If we do not have the knowledge to answer these, i can say that we are not for these profession because their questions were basic and yet we can not answer it. we the help of my regular reading of books in nursing like maternal and child and listening to our lectures i answered their questions immediately and it made me feel better when they smiled at me and their "thank you" made me overwhelmed. to practice also how to mingle with our patient but of course with limitations.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
To feel the hardship in every single step on taking care of our patients and to kissed what it feels like to be a nursing student, because this is our first step in achieving our dreams and it made me realized how hard nursing profession is.

OBSERVATION:

GROUP MATES:
They were also like me(hehe),very skeptical on our first day because we really don't know our areas yet, but as a nursing student i can say that they really made their job well though all of us were out working out hard.

C.I:
Wow! we're very lucky to have Miss Nelia Perez as our clinical instructor, we were very honored . She helped us in our difficulties in taking the vital signs, and comments were very accepted by us. She really made the group jolly and out of pressure on work all the time.

SELF:
I was really shocked by the time we're at RHU when i saw people scattered on the admission, "my gosh how can we finish our work? Do we still have time to eat during lunch break? huhuhu" it was a nightmare for me! But when the actual duty started especially when i added it with health teachings and they answered me with their smiles, it was overwhelming then suddenly i told myself, "i made the right choice to enter nursing".

LEARNING'S:
I learned how to be patient and how to ask and deal with people we really don't know and how to treat them as a family to let them feel the concern within us to make those PASAWAY patients listen to us and to doctors as well.
I also aimed to master taking VS and my determination really boosted out.

General Objective: To enhance and be able to augment my skills and knowledge regarding to the different areas of the Center Health Office and be able to know the various functions as a student nurse on the respective areas and render the total quality care to the community people.

Specific Objective: To be able to practice the different duties and responsibilities as a student nurse on the specific areas.

Observation:
Having my first time duty in RHU, I felt a little bit nervous during our first day because it was my first time to be under the supervision of Mrs. Nhelia C. Perez; our present C.I. I have gained a lot of memories in CHO. It was a great pleasure for me to be part of it for this health care institution. Honestly I keep on complaining to my parents with regards to the reason that I do not like to want they want me to be. I hate having a duty and I’m not happy on this field. But as time passes by and as of now, I realized and I learned how to love this path. As we arrived to our destination, after a few minutes, our C.I. started to guide us and gave some instruction for us to have information about the area. I and my group mates were assigned to the admission area just to observe the staff nurse to what they are doing. But as we observed they call our attention to get the vital signs of the community people. As we did and got their v/s I do not know what I am going to do first in the reason that I was anxious and nervous. And I don’t have any knowledge regarding on the procedure that made in this institution. But as the time passes I was overcome my anxiety and I was able to work easy without worries.
About my group mates they seem to be all nice and friendly. But as I observed during our duty, they also felt nervous and they keep on complaining “ayaw ko na, ganito pala ditto, di ko na alam ang gagawin ko.” Just like me. I am proud to say that we built a good relationship with each other.
With regards to my C.I. I was mistaken with my first impression towards her before. As I observed she always assist us in every move we are doing. I like the way she approach as I did something wrong regarding with my work. She wanted us to learn more as much as we can.

Learning:
Within our more than five hours duty for the first day, I have learned different things that are needed for me to be a good and responsible nurse someday. I have learned how to managed my time wisely with the community people, group mates, C.I. , and staff nurse in the institution. I was able to deal with the community people regarding some important information in getting their v/s. I was able to gained additional knowledge concerning on the techniques towards the improvement of the conditions of some patients. Though, it was my first time to experience our first duty, there were lots of memories to earned and gained. I realized it is fun being a student nurse because you can gain a different experience in dealing with other people.

General objective:
To be able to familiarize and to know the different areas and also the staffs in RHU/CHO.
Specific Objective:
To master and to perform my duty as a student nurse no matter odd may encounter.
Observations:
Self: I am so conscious to what I did because I am just a transferee and its my first time to handle the apparatuses, and getting the blood pressure, hearth rate, weight, and the temperature of the patient. And it is also my first time to have a duty.
Group mates: They are welcoming, friendly and supportive.
Clinical Instructor: I have found a friend in her, a mother, and a great professor. I always felt being treated with kindness and humane.
Learnings:
As a transferee I enjoyed with my new learnings and experiences. I find enjoyment in the services I give. I was so nervous because its my first time to handle apparatuses and by getting the vital signs of the patient. But with the assistant of my C.I Mrs. Perez, she had given me the right and proper ways to handle my apparatuses. Thanks God my day went well. I was so amazed that sex workers or so called the sex vendors are also aware of the good health having sessions of check ups and they are also respectful person. My cellphone was confiscated because I was awakened late and my watch is not properly set in time, so when I have to check my time to my phone and wristwatch my C.I caught me.It was funny our group was called BWC (Brgy. Walang Cellphone).
